Wisps: A mages companion

So I figured out what I wanted the mages to be able to summon. Instead of large creatures I thought up small, floating wisps. Each mage can summon one, and some have their wisps with them at all times. Each wisp has a different shape for each mage. Marlena's wisp is a butterfly, The Witch of Deveron's wisp is a  crow, and Agoth's wisp is a falcon. Victoria's wisp is special, instead of one wisp she has three, and they don't have definite shapes, no one has ever recorded this before, and everyone is stunned and amazed by this. Wisps also show the mood of the user, changing color, they do have a base color though, but everyone is different. Marlena's is purple, The Witch's black, Agoth's is red, and Victoria's are silver. Wisp don't engage in direct combat, but they can spy on enemies, and black mages use them to posses other mages. There are ancient scrolls that dicated certain mages being able to turn their wisps into powerful weapons. But no has seen this act for eons.

Hope everyone enjoyed these post and likes my new story, I am going to write out the first chapter soon, I hope it turns out well.

P.S. I will be up my cabin for the next two days, so now updates then. Sorry guys.

The Seventeenth Day: Banshees and Bad Guys

So this is a banshee, they are prominent bad guys in my new story. Banshees are created when white mages are sacrificed to dark gods by black mages. Their throats are cut, their hearts ripped out, and all the blood drained from their bodies, hence the open hole in the chest, the ripped throat and the multiple cuts. Their scream does immense damage to foes, and if they get close they rip out your heart, forever seeking to replace the one they lost. They float along ground like the wind, silent until their ear splitting screech echoes throughout the land.

These are some of the other, less prominent baddies. The flower monster is called a Virepod. They sneak along the ground like snakes, then constrict their prey crushing it like an anaconda does, they then injest the prey whole. The large snake creature is a Drikai Leviathan. They are ancient creatures that are very rare and hardly seen. They burrow underground, digging large holes to drag enemies into.  And the flying creature is a Wudan. They fly in large flocks, preferring to attack their prey in large groups, ripping it asunder with their large claws and beaks.

The Sixteenth Day: Evrac

Only one drawing today, sorry but I just kept getting distracted. It probably doesn't help that I was up till four in the morning playing on my DSI. Anyway, these blobby, tar like creatures are the Evrac, I was going to draw a single Evrac, but I had this great idea to draw them flowing upward out of a jar. A single Evrac is about the size of a soccer ball but they can change their shape into almost anything. Tables, rocks, humans, whatever their master demands, however whatever they change into remains black and sticky. These creatures aren't challenging to defeat in small amounts but get more than 20 together and you have trouble on your hands.

Tomorrow I will hopefully post some pictures of more bad guys and possibly the creatures the mages can summon.

Creating the Characters

So I had alot of fun designing these characters. I looked alot at Steampunk fashion pictures, and realized alot of the stuff I draw is already Steampunk-ish already. Besides Victoria, the character that took me longest to draw was The Witch. I loved drawing everyone though. I love Agoth's sleevless coat, and The Witch's entire outfit turned out amazing. Marlena's hair was awesome and turned exactly how I saw it in my head. All the characters are amazing and tomorrow I am going to start drawing some more enemies and I came up with an idea that every mage has a creature they can summon to aid them, sort of like the Aeons from Final Fantasy X (BEST GAME IN THE WORLD, SEQUEL IS EQUALLY AS AWESOME). Now I'm not sure if these creatures will be giant or what, I think I shall let my pencil guide me and see what happens.

The Fifteenth Day: New Story, More Characters

So finally got time to post the back stories of more of the characters in my new story.

This is Agoth, the royal wizard Vedrac. Being only 25 he is the youngest mage to reach the Zenoth class of magic. He has worked at the palace since he graduated from his sorcery lessons at the Royal Magic School of Japolean. He meets Victoria and immediatly sees the spark of magic in her. Wise way beyond his years Agoth decides to teach her his ways. Instantly he can tell that she will be a great mage, and easily reach the Zenoth class. After The Witch of Deveron's attack on the palace he realizes that Victoria must leave the castle and journey to meet The Witch and defeat her.
This is Marlena, the Queen of Vedrac and the surrounding nations.  She is extremely beautiful, but also intelligent. Rumored to be part Fey (fairy), she became queen when she married King Robsum, who died in war shortly after. Now the soul ruler of the kingdom she has become one of the greatest. Keeping the kingdom peaceful and happy she is much loved by her subjects. Unbeknownst to Agoth, she knows of his magic lessons with Victoria, and though she remains quiet she absolutly approves. Victoria is The Queen's hand maiden, and Marlena knew the moment she saw her she knew Victoria was brimming with magic.  It was actually Marlena who forsaw the great journey Victoria would go on, and she told this to Agoth, who agreed, having a similar vision himself.

This is The Witch of Deveron, her real name is unknown lost eons ago. All simply know her as The Witch of Deveron. She first appeared in Japolean during the War of Shadows, a great war that she herself started. During this war Marlena married into the kingdom. It was The Witch herself who killed Marlena's husband. The Witch was finally defeated when a group of mages managed to destroy her or so they thought. She has returned but her reasons remain unknown. She does however bear  scars from the war, due to the porcelin mask she wears upon her face. She hasn't really made herself known though, until she attacked the palace with her Evrac, tar like blob masses that assume many shapes and sizes. Her true goals remain unknown but everyone in the kingdom knows they cannont be good.

The Fourteenth Day: New Story

So yesterday was my last day of English class. For our final we had to write a paper, we had three choices, write about a current event, compare and contrast something, or write a story. Now of course I chose to write a story and the idea I came up with was totally awesome. The story was about a maid named Victoria who works in the Queen's palace. While working there she meets the royal wizard Agoth, the two become close friends and he proceeds to teach Victoria the ways of magic and she quickly goes from pupil class to a second class sorceress. However the castle is attacked by The Witch of Deveron, a woman once believed to be dead. Victoria is sent on a mission to discover what she is up too, along the way learning more magic and more about herself. Now I didn't right all of this in class, but I do plan to write it out and publish it here.

This is Victoria, the main character of the story. She works as a royal maid at the palace of Vedrac in the city of Naperol. She started at sixteen and is now 19 (nearly twenty). She loves her job but what makes it better is the wizard Agoth. Shes been learning his magic for nearly 3 years now, and loves every moment of it. She is an unofficial second class sorceress. Confident in her skills and always eager to learn more Victoria is an amazing student and will  soon progress to become an adapt sorceress. Magic in the world of Japolean, the world where Victoria lives, is set up in a system of class. Starting with Pupil class, then moving to Third, Second, First, and Zenoth class. Only the strongest mages make it to the Zenoth class, however there are ancient stories of mages moving on to a level known only in whispers as the "Billax" class, a class of mage so powerful nothing would be able to stand up to him/her.

Tomorrow I will upload pctures of Agoth, and the other characters from this new story. Oh if anyone has any ideas for a title I'm willing to hear them out, because I'm totally stumped haha.

The Thirteenth Day: Kraken Alexiaa

So I totally came home yesterday after my last class and went for a walk to the grocery store, then after ward came home again and passed out on my couch. So obviously no post yesterday, I'm sorry readers. But I have plenty of new drawings for today.

I drew Alexiaa in her kraken form, and after much erasing and new sheets of paper it turned out pretty good. The thing I had trouble with most was her face. I couldn't figure out how to make, did I want humanoid or totally crazy, finally I figured on crazy opening flower type thing. Overall I like this drawing. I'm getting better at drawing giant monster things.
